Pullman People Directory Landscape

Pullman people directories do not form one master resident list. Each keeper publishes names for a defined purpose. Government directories route calls, school and university listings identify staff, property rolls connect owners with parcels, and professional databases report a credential or business role. Historic sources answer a different question: who appeared at a place or institution at a given time?

Begin with the list tied to the role. A department page is more useful than a parcel roll for a public official. TaxSifter is the direct route for a current owner, while the Auditor index is better for prior transfer parties. For a past resident, use a dated edition, census, newspaper, or cemetery index. Directory evidence should be dated because a listing proves what that source reported, not that the same role or address remains current.

WSU Pullman Directory Network

Washington State University gives Pullman an institutional directory system unlike that of most cities its size. WSU reports roughly 5,000 faculty, staff, and graduate assistants on the Pullman campus. The central directory and school or department profiles can supply a name, rank, unit, campus, office, phone, email, biography, research area, and photo, though fields vary and a person may limit what appears.

The live form does not mark those fields as required. Results can mix campuses, so confirm that an entry says Pullman. The captured interface shows how name, academic area, and tag filters narrow a large university staff pool.

Pullman School Staff Directory

The Pullman Public Schools staff directory presents one text box labeled “Search staff directory.” It is the right first stop for district personnel, but dynamic result entries did not load during research. That means no precise public field inventory can be claimed. Search a full surname first, then a shorter name form if spelling or preferred-name use is uncertain.

When the dynamic list fails, contact the district at 240 SE Dexter Street, 509-332-3581, or info@psd267.org. Ask for the school, department, or role rather than private data. The staff directory is a current contact tool, not proof of an earlier appointment or a complete list of everyone tied to a school.

Pullman Government Directory Routes

City and county functions are split. Pullman department pages identify city officials and contacts, but no verified citywide employee search was found. The Whitman County staff directory covers county departments and employees. Its category menu includes the Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Elections, Sheriff, Treasurer, Public Works, and other published offices. First and last name fields can be combined with a category.

A current contact entry does not prove a past work history. If a name is absent, call the department’s main line, ask the county switchboard for the correct office, or use an agency records request for a defined public record. State employees have a separate Washington employee contacts search by last name, first name, and agency, though its live portlet showed a permissions error during inspection.

Pullman Property Name Directories

The Whitman County TaxSifter roll works as an owner directory. Search by owner name, situs address, or parcel/account number. A typical parcel entry may show the taxpayer name, mailing address, physical property address, abbreviated legal description, assessed values, tax details, sales history, and map link. Situs means the property’s physical location; it is not the same as the mailing address used for tax notices.

For earlier owners, move from the parcel number or legal description to the Whitman County EagleWeb index. Grantor means the party transferring an interest; grantee means the party receiving it. Search by name, parcel number, or Auditor File Number. The portal banner says index and images begin January 1, 1980, while county instructions say pre-1982 documents are offline. Keep that two-year conflict visible.

Older channels include digital inspection at the Auditor counter in Colfax, physical inspection at the State Archives Eastern Regional Branch in Cheney, or a deputy search. The deputy needs a grantor or grantee, an abbreviated legal description, and a five-year span; research documented an $8 hourly search fee plus $1 per printed page. The REETSifter route adds transfer searches by affidavit number, parcel, party, street address, and dates.

Pullman Professional Directory Checks

Washington keeps profession and business directories at the state or board level. The Department of Licensing lookup can search by person, business, or license number and may show profession, status, issue and expiration dates, plus discipline links where present. Health credentials use the Department of Health credential search. Lawyers, educators, contractors, and other occupations have their own official routes.

Business identity is separate from a personal credential. The Corporations and Charities Filing System can connect an entity with registered agents, governors, principal addresses, status, and filing history. The Pullman Chamber member directory offers keyword, category, and alphabetic browsing, and a sample listing shows an organization or person name, address, and phone. Membership is voluntary, so absence does not prove that a business is inactive.

VoteWA Is Not a Directory

VoteWA authenticates one voter with first name, last name, and date of birth so that person can view registration and ballot services. It is not open surname browsing. A public voter list is a separate product requested from the Washington Secretary of State and is subject to statutory limits. Publicly described fields can include name, address, year of birth, precinct or district, and participation history, never ballot choices.

This distinction keeps Pullman people directories from being overstated. The individual portal, public extract, county election originals, and historical voting sources have different users and access rules. The full access-law treatment belongs with Pullman public records. For genealogy, State Archives and FamilySearch catalogs may offer older voting material, but exact years and image access must be checked.

Historical Pullman People Directories

The Washington State Library holdings list verifies Pullman city directories for 1904, 1908–09, 1915–16, 1957, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1966–67, 1973–74, 1979–80, 1983, and 1985. Its Pullman telephone books cover 1937–38, 1952–54, 1956, 1958, 1961–71, 1974–80, 1983–92, 1994–97, 1999–2000, and 2006. These are verified holdings, not proof that each is the first or last edition ever published.

Moscow appears with Pullman in city directories from 1957 through 1985. That cross-state feature matters because everyday Palouse ties can cross into Idaho. The holdings list does not identify which volumes have reverse, or criss-cross, sections arranged by address. Reports in 2025 said normal State Library public access closed, so verify access before travel even though the collection page describes onsite use.

Pullman Archive Name Resources

WSU Manuscripts, Archives, and Special Collections preserves university publications, photos, manuscripts, campus phone directories known as Fussers Guides, yearbooks, early maps, and regional family material. Its Pullman Herald run is digitized through 1922, while the Daily Evergreen and other regional newspapers are available through archive or microfilm channels. Privacy can limit help about living university people, especially in more recent material.

The Whitman County Historical Society Archive and Genealogical Society share space at 525 NE Campus in Pullman. The archive reports more than 1,000 inventoried collections, including photos, maps, plat books, census and cemetery indexes, plus an every-name index to 52 local publications. Wednesday hours are listed as 9 a.m. to noon, and staff attempts email research at wchsarchives@gmail.com. The genealogy society offers an initial hour of index checking for $20, with copies at $0.15 per page and consent required for added work.

Neill Public Library’s Palouse Heritage collection adds local families, clubs, schools, churches, businesses, and institutions. The library’s exact physical directory and reverse-directory years were not published, so ask its reference desk for a holdings list.
